so, you had a bad day. it's okay. it happens. sometimes things don't fall in place the way we wanted to. that is a-okay. in the moment, it really freaking sucks. "nothing is going right", "i can't do anything to please anyone today". we all have those little conversations with ourselves at times. whether it is a small chain of unfortunate events (spilling coffee all over your brand new car, slipping on ice, leaving your homework at home, running a few minutes late... not that i would know) that led you to feeling this way or a major event causing you stress, it is okay to freak out a bit and have a "bad day". as much as i wish it was possible, there is not a single person on this earth that is always genuinely happy. no way, not possible. if anyone disagrees with this, you are a liar and you probably enjoy drinking black coffee.
"sunshine all the time brings a desert". i saw a post on vsco which quoted and discussed these words. immediately after reading, i was inspired to write a blog post on the matter. so, i did a little research on this quote and it is actually an arab proverb. the meaning behind it is pretty self explanatory. naturally, if you are happy all the time you are going to wear yourself out. you need the "rain" (aka bad days) for your life to be nourished and complete. just like a plant. if you never water a plant yet give it incredible amounts of sunshine, it is going to wilt! the same thing goes for us as human beings (drink your water kidz). happy days are great and all but we need the less enjoyable times to truly grow as a person and become who we are meant to be. the bad days really suck. but not only do they test our strength, they also help to prepare us for later in life. god knows exactly what he's doing when he gives us those rainy days. so what can you do to make a rainy day suck less? here are a few of my favorite tips to survive and look forward to sunnier, happier days.
